Advancing Societal Impact of Social Sciences and Humanities – ONLINE COURSE

An international course on creating opportunities for societal impact and business initiatives

After a successful pilot course last year, the AESIS Network proudly announces the next edition of our Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) course normally held in Oxford but brought to you online this year to optimally adapt to the COVID-19 virus. As with the original, experts in SSH disciplines will demonstrate how to stimulate societal impact of SSH in our online course. Questions that will be examined include:

– What are the most effective ways to manage an impact unit?
– What are the pathways to integrate impact in research strategies?
– How do I make academic ideas ‘market-ready’?
– How do I organise public & private alliances?

The course will be held on 12, 14, 19, 21 & 26 May in half-day long sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, using our online classroom Zoom. Each session will be taught in an interactive manner in order to make this initiative as fitting as possible to all of your particular aims and needs. Experts from the UK, US and continental Europe will share their knowledge on issues ranging from business alliances and consultancy opportunities to generating awards and grants for research. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate signed by AESIS and Oxford University.
