The Researchers at Risk Fellowships are a “win-win” for fellows and their host university

Yevgeniia Gnatchenko is Visitor Associate Professor in Norwich Business School, UEA, research fellow under the Researchers at Risk Programme from The British Academy. Prior to joining UEA she was an Associate Professor of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Administration, O.M. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv (O.M. Beketov NUUEKh), Ukraine. Yevgniia’s latest research considers innovative entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) development. Yevgeniia also has a role as a coach in Entrepreneurship and Start-up Student Accelerator in aforementioned university. Modules: Investment Analysis, Entrepreneurship and Start-Ups, Business Culture. Research interests: innovative entrepreneurship, start-up support, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) development, governmental support for SME, innovation policy, refugee and migrant entrepreneurship.

Olga Sovenko is an Honorary Lecturer (since 2022) and Research Fellow (since 2023) at the School of Art, Media and American Studies (Arts and Humanities Faculty, University of East Anglia, Norwich) and a Lecturer in Sociology - Serzh Lyfar Kyiv Municipal Academy of Dance (2009-2024). She is PhD in Sociology (2015), Researcher, focused on applied sociological methods, monitoring and evaluation specialist and the Ambassador of The Center of Ukrainian Studies (Kyiv). Her main scientific interests include: media studies, gender studies, content-analysis, monitoring and evaluation, social science methodology, applied studies, management of social science research, media information literacy, media literacy education, civil society institutions.

Madeleine (Madi) Dutton is the Sanctuary Liaison Support Officers at the University of East Anglia. In this role she provides support for members of the sanctuary community throughout their student, academic or professional journey.

Sophie North is the Academic Lead for the University of Sanctuary at the University of East Anglia. She is also a lecturer in health sciences with a particular interest in forced displacement and health.

Ulrike Theuerkauf is an Associate Professor in Politics and Global Development at the University of East Anglia, where she teaches and researches on different types, causes and consequences of political violence; dynamics of democratisation and democratic backsliding; and patterns of political inclusion and exclusion.
