Event Details

The aim of the workshop is to provide delegates with a specific and practical understanding of post-award financial administration within a university research management environment. The session combines a mixture of delivered content and activities, also providing delegates with an opportunity to hear from representatives from major UK funding agencies.

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the financial context of post award administration- from both a university and funder context.
  • Have a good understanding of the financial administration lifecycle of research accounts from start to finish and have confidence to apply the knowledge gained in their role.
  • Understand the key risks at the post award stage and how to mitigate these.
  • Have had an opportunity to network with peers in similar roles from across the sector.

Target Audience

This is an introductory level course particularly suitable for those who are within the first 12 months of appointment in a post-award research administration role. The course may also be suitable for those who currently work in a pre-award or wider university setting and wish to gain greater insight into post-award administration.

Prior Knowledge Required

Participants will benefit from having basic accounts and administration experience in a university environment and an understanding of general financial terms.
