Focusing on place can build public and political support for R&D

Dr Ben Bleasdale, Director of the Discovery Decade - Ben leads the Discovery Decade programme, which aims to make R&D matter to more people. He’s previously held roles at the Wellcome Trust, Academy of Medical Sciences and the Medical Research Council, having completed a PhD at Imperial College London in virology.

Dr Rebecca Hill, Advocacy and Engagement Manager, Discovery Decade - Rebecca leads CaSE’s public opinion research through quantitative and qualitative methods. She previously worked in policy positions at Cancer Research UK and fact checking charity Full Fact, and before that was a journalist at publications including Research Fortnight.
