The EU & International Special Interest Group brings together research managers and administrators who are involved in the EU & International Research at any point in the research lifecycle. The EU & International SIG shares information about challenges and best practices that are unique to this area.

Bikram Singh Head of Research Finance & Compliance, Coventry University

Bikram is a qualified accountant with a over 15 years of experience in research management across the University’s of Birmingham, Leicester and Coventry. He heads of Research finance and Compliance at Coventry University and is presently undertaking doctoral research in the developing methods to evaluate the performance and sustainability of research centres.

Conor Snowden Strategic Research Executive (International Development), University of Edinburgh

Dr Conor Snowden is the Strategic Research Executive for International Development, within the Strategic Research Directorate in Edinburgh Research Office at the University of Edinburgh. He looks to build research partnerships with low and middle-income countries (LMICs) and build knowledge and understanding of the opportunities in working with LMICs. Previously he managed the university’s QR ODA global challenges research funding. He received his PhD in Geophysics and Seismology from the University of Edinburgh, after a first degree at Durham. Conor has previously worked for the British Council as a Higher Education and Science Advisor in Scotland and globally, Deputy Director in Tanzania, and Director in Croatia and Slovenia. He has also been active in local politics as a city councillor in Edinburgh and worked in the Scottish Parliament.

Dr Glen Noble, Founder and Director, Noble Endeavours Ltd.

Dr Glen Noble is the founder and director of Noble Endeavours Ltd. He is a specialist in research strategy, partnerships, policy, funding, and governance with a particular focus on collaboration with China. He has significant experience as a facilitator of cross-cultural and cross-sector partnerships and interdisciplinary collaboration. He writes extensively about these issues for various outlets, including a regular Linked In newsletter about Chinese research policy. Prior to consulting, he was Deputy Director for RCUK/UKRI China, representing, advising, and negotiating for the UK research sector, and Director of Research for the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. In 2012 he completed a PhD studying the geographies of inequality and retains a deep interest in both qualitative methodologies, and issues of equality and diversity.

Kristina Gruzdeva Research Facilitator (EU and International Post-Award), University of Birmingham

Kristina Gruzdeva has been working in the Higher Education sector for over 7 years. Prior to her current role of the Research Facilitator for EU and International Post Awards, she worked as a Finance & Project Manager and Research Finance Administrator. She holds the APM Project Manager Qualification and has an academic background in Education (PhD, 2022). Her area of expertise includes funder compliance, post-award grant management and operating system development.
