Anton Muszanskyj Head of Research Policy and Governance, Nottingham Trent University
Anton has been employed in the higher education sector since 2013, and for most of that time has worked in a research services role. He is currently NTU’s Head of Research Policy and Governance and in this capacity also Chairs the University Open Research and Research Integrity Committee. Anton has responsibility for delivering NTU’s open research plan and a primary focus of this role is on embedding and supporting Open Research across the institution and in facilitating its recognition in relevant researcher-focused policies and procedures. He is also the University’s operational lead for the Research Excellence Framework and was the Panel Secretary for the REF 2021 B11 – Computer Science and Informatics Sub-panel.
Émilie Lavallée-Funston Contracts and Publications Licences Officer, University of Stirling
Émilie Lavallée-Funston has been working in the HEI sector since 2019 and joined the University of Stirling in 2022. Her current areas of responsibility include research contracts and open access policy, publications, and funding at Stirling.
Her work experience includes content licencing negotiations with scholarly publishers, digital heritage and research support, scholarly metadata curation and data analytics.
Émilie is Co-chair of the NISO Transfer Code of Practice Standing Committee and a member of the YERUN Working Group on Open Science.
Mate Palfy Open Science Lead, Wellcome Sanger Institute
Mate works within the Policy & Advocacy Team at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, where he is responsible for improving and developing the Institute’s Open Science portfolio. He is currently leading on the implementation of the Institute’s Open Science Action Plan, which includes embedding FAIR into data sharing practices and policies. He also plays a role in shaping and evolving the library at Sanger. Mate has a research background, and has previously worked for 5 years in scientific publishing in community building and editorial roles.
Paul Rudd Open Access and Open Science Lead, UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA)
Paul is a qualified information professional, and has been working in open research for over five years. He has gained expert knowledge of open research from working in his current role as the Open Access and Open Science Lead at the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), and from working as the Open Access and Open Science Lead for UKHSA’s predecessor organisation Public Health England (PHE).
Previously, Paul has worked in a variety of information professional roles in different types of sectors, which has included working in the private sector and the higher education sector.
