Professor Marion Thain joins ARMA 2025 keynote speaker lineup

We are thrilled to announce Professor Marion Thain as a keynote speaker at ARMA 2025. Professor Thain is Director of the Edinburgh Futures Institute, and Professor of Culture and Technology at the University of Edinburgh.

She began her career as a Junior Research Fellow at Cambridge, and then worked in English departments at Russell Group universities, before moving to New York University (NYU) as a professor of Arts and Literature in the school of the interdisciplinary global liberal arts, and as Director of Digital Humanities for NYU.

She returned to the UK in 2018 as Professor of Culture and Technology and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at King’s College London. She publishes primarily on the relationship between culture and technology, and has most developed the new multidisciplinary field of ‘Attention Studies’.

Professor Thain joins Steven Hill and Professor Karen Salt in our line-up of plenary speakers for the conference.

ARMA 2025 will take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), from 17 – 19 June 2025. For those who arrive in Edinburgh on 17 June, we are hosting a networking reception at the EICC. The premier social event of ARMA 2025, the Gala Dinner & ARMA Awards Ceremony, will take place on the evening of Wednesday 18 June at the spectacular National Museum of Scotland, located in the heart of Edinburgh.

The annual conference brings together professionals from research management and the wider research community to connect, learn and share knowledge through a mix of plenary and parallel sessions, poster presentations, commercial exhibition and networking opportunities.
