This coming Friday, 25th September is National Research Administrator Day!
Originally conceived by our sister association NCURA back in 2015, our national day has gradually spread around the globe and this year of all years, we think our members deserve to be recognised for all they’ve achieved, helping to facilitate the world’s most game-changing, ground-breaking and life-saving research!
You may have come up with your own ways to celebrate #ResearchAdministratorDay but we’d like to invite you to take part in one or both of the following initiatives:
Say ‘thank-you’ to a colleague on #ResearchAdministratorDay
Next Friday, we’d like our members to recognise the value their colleagues in their own and other institutions have made in support of research. Sometimes we just don’t say ‘thank you’ enough!
Nominate a colleague, friend, client or associate – they don’t need to be ARMA members and of course they can be academics! – and give them a mention in the social media of your choice, whether this be Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram even! Briefly summarise why you’re nominating them and please attach the hashtags #ARMA (of course) and #ResearchAdministratorDay.

To help raise the profile of your Research Office, or rather the virtual Research Office, we thought it would be fun if members could take a picture of the view from the window of their virtual Research Office and post it next Friday on Instagram with ‘Greetings from my virtual Research Office at/in…, adding in the #ARMA and #ResearchAdministratorDay hashtags, of course!
