Royal Society consultation on institutional fellowships and the Global Talent visa

The British Academy, Royal Academy of Engineering, and the Royal Society are gathering information on institutionally awarded fellowships to inform decisions on the endorsement criteria for the Global Talent visa. This is a highly flexible visa option that allows successful applicants to work in the UK with fewer restrictions and costs than other immigration categories.

As endorsing bodies for the Global Talent visa, the Academies manage three of the four routes for researchers and innovators to gain endorsement before applying to the Home Office – ‘academic and research appointments’, ‘individual fellowships’, and ‘standard peer review’. A fourth route – ‘endorsed funders’ – is managed by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). Please click here for further information.

The consultation document is attached and we are eager to hear from a wide range of UK higher education institutions and research institutes.

To that end, we would be grateful if you could complete and return your form to us by close of business on Tuesday 3 August.

For any queries, please email thomas.frostick@royalsociety.org copying in cbrs@royalsociety.org.
