Responsible Bibliometrics Analysis, Interpretation, and Reporting – A Statistics Approach

This workshop aims to help research office, planning office, and library staff with responsible bibliometric analysis, interpretation and reporting. The focus is on developing familiarity with statistical concepts and understanding so that these can be applied in practice to improve the identification and communication of key messages from bibliometric analysis.Bibliometrics is a context that does not lend itself well to traditional statistical approaches. This workshop provides an introduction to basic statistical concepts and, crucially, explores how these relate specifically to bibliometric data and indicators.

Leading Research Management and Administration

The aim of this workshop is to help new or aspiring senior research managers to develop their strategic planning and thinking skills in relation to the leadership of research management and administration, positioning research management and administration at their organisation within the broader local, national and international contexts.

The workshop will be led by an experienced management development consultant with an extensive background of working with colleagues involved in HE research. He takes an experiential approach to learning and the workshop will include a mixture of formal presentations, discussions and group activities.
