ARMA’s Member Engagement Committee (MEC) is establishing a new working group to lead on the development and delivery of the ARMA Awards. We are seeking ARMA members, who will be willing to join this inaugural working group.
As a member of the working group, you will be involved in developing the awards, including the creation of the objectives, categories, nomination process and judging process. The recipients of the Awards will be announced at the ARMA Awards Ceremony which will be held during the Gala Dinner at the annual ARMA Conference. In line with our vision to drive the professional recognition of research management, ARMA Awards aim to celebrate the achievements of research management professionals, teams and organisations by showcasing best practice, excellence and innovation achieved within the profession. The awards will aim to recognise ARMA members and their commitment to advancing and enhancing the profession with pioneering approaches to research management.
We are keen to ensure the membership of the working group is inclusive and representative of the diversity in the research management community. We are therefore interested in hearing from members based across all UK nations in organisations such as universities/higher education institutions, research institutes, independent research organisations, public sector research establishments, research funders, NHS Trusts, Catapult centres and charitable organisations, including Trusts and Foundations. The volunteering opportunity is open to all career stages, and all types of research management roles, with appropriate guidance and support to be provided for all successful applicants. Each working group member will be appointed for a term of three years and are eligible for a second term of three years.
The working group will meet up to four times a year. Most meetings will be hosted on Microsoft Teams, with one of the meetings being in person. Meetings will be scheduled at the first meeting of the working group has scheduled and will be in December. Applicants interested in joining the working group should ideally aim to be available for the initial online meeting of the Awards Working Group on Wednesday 11 December at 1pm – 2.30pm (although alternative arrangement will be made for anyone unable to make this time).

Please note you are not required to be an ARMA member at the time of application, but successful applicants will be required to join ARMA before serving on the working group.
